January was a busy month for celebrations, including a visit from our District Governor Chuck Pretto, recognition of Paul Harris Fellows Jack Beebe, Scott Harry, and Eric Ramos, and for Sandy for all of her outreach work. The Foundation also received a $1000 check from the Fallbrook High Alumni Association!
January Fallbrook Village Rotarians had the pleasure of hearing from District Governor Chuck Pretto. Being an avid supporter of hosting exchange students, he realized that, “A world that unites creates lasting change in our community, the globe and in ourselves.  We are transformed when becoming a Rotarian.”  For the upcoming year, Chuck has made a commitment to get involved and make changes in the mental health services, especially focusing on young teens.  While researching mental health issues facing this young demographic, he learned that San Diego county has the highest suicide rate in California, many linked to social media pressures especially affecting young women.

DG Pretto also recognized the following FVR Rotarians for achieving multiple Paull Harris': Eric Ramos PHF +3, Scott Harry- PHF +2, Jack Beebe, PHF +1. Congratulations and thank you for your generosity, gentlemen!

The club also had an opportunity to recognize Sandy Maruca for her many contributions toward public relations, news, and social media. Congratulations and thank you Sandy!

Finally, the Foundation received a $1,000 donation toward the Miss Fallbrook Pageant from the Fallbrook High School Alumni Association Chair, Janice Owen
