Rotarians Don & Jen Weeks donated 50 lbs. of food items for the Lions vs. Rotary Thanksgiving food drive challenge. Please be sure to bring food items suitable for donation to our upcoming Board meeting on November 15th so we can show Lions what service above self is all about! 
ROTARY DISTRICT 5340 has been CHALLENGED by the LIONS CLUBS OF SAN DIEGO AND IMPERIAL to collect food items for local food banks in San Diego and Imperial Counties. The Challenge between our two Districts will continue through November. DG Chuck Pretto would like clubs to gather donated food item, weigh it and let the District know the total weight amount and then proceed to drop it off at either the San Diego, North County or Imperial Food Banks. At the end of the month, we will compare the amount of food we donate versus what the Lion's come up with for a friendly competition. We have twice as many Rotarians in San Diego as do the Lions, but we know they are motivated to beat us, Let's come together and donate food to one of these local food banks.
