Oasis High School’s Student of the Month (SOM) Jenny Jimenez

Everyone came to the March SOM Breakfast at North Coast Church to cheer on our hardworking Fallbrook Union High School District’s students!  The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department along with North County Fire Department sat at tables near the Marines of MAG-29 and the Marine Air Group.  Our Rotarian representative, Don Weeks, shared breakfast with American Association of University Women (AAUW)  members, the Village News reporter, and a Pacific Western Bank employee.

Emcee Greg Coppock introduced March's Students of the Month who received their medals: (l-r) Jenny Jimenez, Damon Gallegos, Nolan Sim and Dawson Fluck.

  • Oasis’s Jenny Jimenez plans to attend Palomar College before moving to a four-year university. She wants to work in the medical field. Her mom and sister appeared onstage to celebrate Jenny’s efforts.
  • While his mom proudly watched her son, FHS’s Damon Gallegos told the audience that he aspires to attend UC Davis to become a vet. He amused the audience with his plans to treat companion canines —preferably the little lap dogs! Our Rotary is happy to know that Damon is a 4-Way Speech contest participant this year.
  • FHS’s Nolan Sim, who is an AP Scholar with Distinction, could attend Stanford, UCLA or UC Irvine to study mechanical engineering. His mom, dad and sister stood proudly with him. The Sim family purchased Richardsons and renamed it as the well-known Pedro’s Tacos.
  • FHS's Dawson Fluck stood with his proud parents on the stage. He wants to attend the Palomar College Fire Academy to become an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

We, Rotarians, remain in awe of this tremendous students. Good luck to them in their endeavors!
